# Monthly statements

> Monthly chargeback and showback by cost center: drafted on day 2, final on day 5, never edited, and corrected only by a new version with a reason.

> **Note:** INFRO is in private early access. Running these examples requires an early-access account, an active trial or subscription entitlement, and your own provider connection. Self-serve purchasing is not generally open. See [Early access](https://infro.io/early-access).

A statement totals one month of estimated provider cost by [cost center](https://infro.io/docs/features/cost-centers). It is what a finance team sends each team as chargeback or showback. Statements are included from the Team plan.

> **Note:** Every amount on a statement is INFRO's estimate of what your own providers bill you. It is not an invoice, and **INFRO platform fees are never on it** — your subscription is invoiced separately.

## Timeline

| When (UTC) | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| Day 2, 06:00 | The previous month's **draft** is generated. It is regenerated every 12 hours so late metering lands in it. |
| Day 5, 00:00 | The draft becomes **final**, unless someone closed it sooner from the console. |
| After final | The billing contact and each cost center's owner get an email with a signed link. An owner's link shows only their own center's lines. Links expire after 7 days. |

A statement covers the calendar month by default. An owner or the Finance role can switch the organization to its billing period instead, starting from the next statement.

## Final means final

A final statement and its lines are never updated; the database refuses it. A mistake is fixed by **issuing a correction**: a new version of the same month, with a written reason, that supersedes the previous one. Every version stays readable.

Requests metered after a month is final are not added to it. They appear on the next month's statement as a **prior-period adjustment**, so last month's total never moves under someone who already filed it.

## What a line says

| Kind | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `usage` | Requests booked to the center directly by a rule. |
| `allocated` | The center's share of a split rule. |
| `prior_period_adjustment` | Requests from an earlier, already final month. |

Unpriced requests are counted beside the total, not in it; when there are any, the statement says the total is a lower bound. Where [reconciliation](https://infro.io/docs/org/billing) is enabled, the statement also shows each provider's own reported figure for the organization, and each line gets an `allocated_reported_cost`: its proportional share of that figure. That share is labelled allocated, because provider cost APIs report organization totals, never one team's.

## Downloads and the API

Download a statement from the console as CSV or as FOCUS JSON. With a key that has organization-wide observability access, `GET /v1/statements` lists them and `GET /v1/statements/{id}?format=json|csv|focus` returns one. The CSV response carries `X-INFRO-Statement-Status` so a script can tell a draft from a final.
